For quite a while now La has been asking to have her hair cut. So, one Sunday afternoon when our parental sanity went on hiatus, we capitulated to the perfectly reasonable request of the resident 3 year old and gave her the hair cut she wanted. She had even found an example in a book of the style. We couldn't stall any longer.

Not that she looks happy here, but La was VERY excited about her new hair cut - no more hair in her face and scrappy long bits at the back.
It completely changed how she looked and made us (the parental impostors) just a little sad. But, she loves it and now I love it as it requires little brushing and fiddling with hair equipment etc. Sigh, they really do grow up before your eyes!
Sami is not wont to do what is commonplace. For his birthday he decided he wanted a ukulele. I can hear the sweet strains of deliverance in the distance...

At least it's a good size for La. Mind, Sami did tune up her little toy guitar as well. She's got one chord down but I'll hold out on applying for Julliard for the moment...
La went on a rock climbing expedition the other day with Sami, Morgs and Lucho. She channeled her inner monkey and climbed her little heart out - up!

I'm guessing the ladder is for practice...
...for jumping from great heights - I guess she is her father's daughter!
"Helllloooo doooown thereeeee!"
La seemed to get the technique right...
...she looks like she knows what she's doing, mind, we can't see how far up, or, not so up she is!
Our Sami loves himself a bit of air to fly about in and when the wind is blowing in the right direction he's off...

I can't be sure that is even him, but it's worth a try. On this day we headed with Sami to Mona Vale, northern beaches to jump of a cliff...
...not that we did. It's close to Home and Away country so we walked safely down from the cliff to the surf instead.
La is on her way to being a beach bum - now we need to invest in some boogie boards to make it even more fun.
Sami had his birthday recently and A. Louie took the honours in the gift department with home made apricot jam from Old Pa's trees with personalised labels to match. It's now a toss up to which sister he prefers...
I did get him a shirt which he took back and exchanged for another. Bless him. The magic mugs from Mum were a hit though!
This is the cake I made him and I did get that right - keeping with the flying theme and surprising him with my creativity.
It's a chick though - comes with having girls about the place I guess!
Nat and Julz dropped in for the night as they drove home from Coffs Harbour the other week...

Lex and La jumped right into play...
...stretching out bedtime for as long as possible!
Nat and Mitchell having chats and a bit of brekkie.
Curious George. Or, "whatch you lookin' at Willis?!" You choose...
La has a knife of her own and she's a dab hand at making her lunch now. Next - rent.
Just as the last of the hot days came through Lucho, La and Stormy take to the backyard and improvise with a sprinkler to keep cool.
The backyard pool. We have to start somewhere I guess. No, I'm happy - I'm way to cheap to fund a pool filter folks!
