Just interrupting the flow of winter farm fun with this piece of breaking news - Alara's Year 1 school photo is in!
Mum and Dad celebrated their 40th Wedding Anniversary this year and we threw them a small lunchtime party in honour of such a wonderful event.
It was all hands on deck to tidy up and prepare. Thankfully, the weather held and it didn't rain on us - even though it was a bit chilly. But, everyone rugged up and made the most of the furnace to keep warm.
Mitchell all ready to have some fun.
Steve was in charge of the meat and cooked some spectacular chicken and pork roasts with dripping, crunchy crackling.
Ma Ma had saved this huge box for the grandies to play in while they visited.
Julz and Nat were in charge of the decorations and set the scene perfectly.
Everyone was encouraged to wear a little red or ruby on the day. Well done girls.
Selfie - before Louie did her hair.
Aunty Mary stole the show by arriving in her original bridesmaid's dress from the day - and made a few enemies when she revealed it was too big now, 40 years later!!!
This gave us the idea of recreating the wedding party from 40 years ago with a few stand-ins. Lexie in Aunty Cath's dress, and La in Aunty Di's.
And Nat and Lou were Mum and Dad for a short moment (awkward!)
As they were in 1974.
Lucy doesn't look like she wants to share!
A red cousin pairing.
Gathered around the heat to keep warm.
Dad's little dance floor. He used his ute for some music and didn't take long for the kids to make novel use of the tray.
Later on in the day.
Time for photos - grandies thus far...
...with Mum and Dad...
...and their own offspring...
...and finally joined by the ring-ins. With the exception of Sami who stayed back in Sydney working. We had a great weekend all together and have the utmost of respect and admiration for Mum and Dad for keeping and raising a great bunch of people (if I do say so myself!)
We had to wait three whole months before it was our time to go to the farm to meet Mr Davy Excell. He didn't disappoint and we found him still little (well, not quite infant small) and happy to meet our acquaintance.
La having first cuddles.
Everybody's Davy!
Leyla so, so happy to be holding a baby. The baby, maybe not so much......
