The rumours of a planned citizenship ceremony flying around a particular house in Penrith proved to be true with a Turkish fellow by the name of Sami taking the oath in honour of meat pies and VB. Packed into the Department of Immigration building, a hundred or so folk gathered to confirm their loyalty to the Australian way, neatly sidestepping others cramming madly for their citizenship test asking pertinent questions such as "Who is Shane Warne?" and "Why would you honestly care?" And let's not forget drowning out the noise coming from the basement full of refugees...
The main man from Immigration had obviously taken his robes and ran to do something infinitely more important this Saturday morning so it was left to Shazza from admin to deliver a heartwarming two sentence speech to mark the occaision.
