The week of Alara's 2nd birthday was full of friends, family and good times. On the weekend prior, Luke, Honor and the Foreman family stayed over for a couple of days of celebrating not only La's milestone but also to reminisce about old times and reconnect with the new.
I've no pictures of Saturday but it was spent at the local pool - a great way to de-energise the kids so we could enjoy a peaceful evening! Sunday the boys took the kiddie crowd to a local park while we ladies stayed in to "organise" things. Bless the boys.
Lucho was also included all weekend as a wonderful playmate for Charlie and Christina...
...as you can see here - much fun was had all weekend.
The Teddy Cake - supposed to resemble La's bedtime teddy. Ooh la la...
No tears this time when happy birthday was sung - all smiles and blowing.

Honor and Larissa first met way back when we were in Cairns and Dave spent time down on the farm with myself years ago before Christina was born...
...and here we all are being reminded of old times and old hairstyles.
On Alara's actual birthday Ma Ma, Lou and Tobs turned up for a flying visit to help celebrate.
I like to think that we put the turbo in Toby's crawl while he was here - see it's not just bugs and coughs that you can leave here with folks...

So the day went as usual just with added numbers - Lucho's swimming lessons were next...
...his perfected dog paddle. Lucho is now doing freestyle and backstroke and getting better every week.
Toby joined in the fun and Louie helped me with the lesson.
Christina had made these cupcakes for the past weekend and in all the activity we forgot to use them but that worked out wonderfully for me as I didn't need to make another cake for La's birthday evening - thanks Christina!

...Toby waiting for inspiration to hit. That evening we skyped Sami's family and all sang happy birthday and blew out the candles around the computer. Love technology these days as it allowed us to share La's day with her Turkish family. Thanks everyone for all your effort, love and friendship!
