One day last week we came upon a little bird seemingly stuck high in the branches of one of our trees. First thought was to call the Fire Brigade (seriously, they rescue birds from trees) then Sami remembered that's him, so mission "Bird Rescue" got underway.
Sami, armed with scissors and a hacksaw, scaled the tree to try and see what was going on. He found that the bird had cotton wrapped around it's legs which was then caught on the branch of the tree which explained why he couldn't move. Sami cut off the branch and brought it down to untangle the bird.
La was very helpful in directing his climb and then removing the cotton from his poor little legs.
We set him free and after a while he flew off unharmed. Score one for the bird man Sam!
