Bows, Nails and Designs

2 girls down and I have finally been dragged, kicking and screaming (slight exaggeration) into the girly world of pink bows, ribbons and all things pretty. See for yourself how I have changed...
Miss Leyla has no hair. After having a little Miss who did, I feel strangely out of sorts with a babe who's glorious mane is yet to arrive. So, it's headbands with bows. Also helps tell her apart from the boys.
Another example of my girls being "girl". You all should be so proud of me. When I do the washing, I actually have a whole load of pink - not colours - pink. I'm guessing that justifications can be found somewhere in the post-modern feminist handbook. I hope so. A bit of background for this reasonably ok, slightly dodgy family pic - we tried so hard to capture something here that wouldn't make the walls cringe, but everytime Sami set the timer on the camera and raced around the back, he turned the picture into a shot of 3 girls and a pervert. We retook this shot sooooo many times. If the perv didn't turn up, Sami just looked weird. God help us...
...or at least our resident Angel will!

Actually going out to dinner - I look like my 13 year old self here with that mug. I was pussy-mouth about something no doubt, no different really 20 years on! I feel so sad after typing that...
La has been painting her nails with her textas lately so I finally went out and bought nail polish for the house.
Beautiful bright pink. Yet another nail in my formerly pink-less coffin.
La has come a long way with her drawing since starting pre-school. She is getting very brave in drawing new things and now her pictures have a story to go with them. Wall worthy.

Miss Leyla loves her mat with her hanging things. Not rolling over yet (not in any rush myself) but taking a concentrated interest in her toys. So cute to watch.
One of her absolute favourites - Mr Robot. Cousin Edward was on the money with that one!
It was my friend Jill's birthday recently and in the wake of Laura doing such a wonderful job with my birthday cake, I though I would pay it forward and make one for Jill. Of course, the fact that I luuurrrve meringue really had nothing to do with it (!) - I was just waiting for a reason to beat those egg whites!
