Still on holidays...Pt 1

We switched up climates for the second part of our winter holiday - Cairns here we come!
It was high time that Sami and I took the girls back to where it all began and we were definitely all ready for some T-shirt and shorts weather!
The negotiated seating arrangments - La will have the window on the way back apparently 😑
First morning in, weather is warm but a little bit of rain to keep us on our toes, but an ideal day for us to drive about and check out our old stomping grounds. Here we are at Yorkey's Knob beach where we first lived.

Of course, we had to do a river and rapid check at the Barron even though the water was very, very low.
Anticipating all the swimming to come...
...by the pool at the apartments which happened to be just a little bit too chilly.
Off to Port Douglas and Mossman Gorge for the day to have a look about.
 Typical Tourists.
We made the most of the morning and took ourselves off on the rainforest walk near the gorge.

Couldn't not take this pic (along with a million others who surely have done the same)
The view of paradise and one person's driveway at the lookout on Flagstaff Hill in Port Douglas.
We stopped for some lunch and a beach walk and of course an ice-cream. You know, mandatory holiday stuff.
Our ride for the holiday. A wee little buzz box who served us very well.
Our digs in Trinity Beach - an absolute find, simple but clean and tidy and a block from the beach.
Complete with pool and cabana.
 Beach Day on Trinity.
Sami's old university friend came out for the day and brought with him all the beach things that we could not - rugs, pillows, chairs and games.
We spent almost the whole day on the beach with Misha and ended it with some fish and chips on the rocks with his partner and friends. Fantastic.
